Off-Season Arizona

We certainly found that easier to see many things in Arizona when you’re offseason and before the spring Tour season begins. The good bad is that some things are not open but many things still are. We decided to drive S and do a little adventuring along the way to Flagstaff.

Apparently there’s some dinosaurs tracks near Tuba City that you can go check out that is open to everyone and free to explore.

The good is if you look closely and carefully you can find a number of different ones that are fossilized in the stone.

The bad is that nothing is marked and a lot of people will try to get you to give them donations to show you around and be a guide even though it’s not required.

It was only a 15 minute stop and then we headed to Tuba City to check out the Navajo museum there. But unfortunately it was closed and there was very few around in almost most stores and shops were closed. But one thing we did find was the Navajo Cow Talkers World War II Memorial and Museum.

It was pretty cool to see some of the actual equipment that had been used during the war.

I must admit I felt really lucky to be around the people in the tribe that actually contributed so much to the United States military during World War II.

They had uniforms from some of the actual members of that unit. They were MARINES 🙂

And they also had some of the captured uniforms from the Japanese that they fought in Iwo Jima.

There was not much else to see so we headed down to Flagstaff AZ to visit the most popular site in the area: In-And-Out Burgers. How can you pass up this site?
