We hopped over the bridge to check out the other side of Budapest known by its gang name “Buda”.
We had visited this site previously in 2008, so we did not feel the need to spend a whole day on this side. We did check out the refurbished church that was not open a number of years ago.
A lot of work has been put into the church in repairing and renovating the church that was heavily damaged in WWII. Many original delicate pieces of stained glass were preserved during the war and were put back into place.
I do admit that the castle top in Buda was SWARMED by tourists. It is a much more of a relaxed atmosphere than Pest, but it was shocking to see how much this location is becoming a tourist mob over the past 8 years. Great views for taking pictures of the city though!
Ok – off to perform some wine tasting based on a recommendation from the Ritz-Carlton concierge. 🙂
